Designed as an extension to an Eltham 70’s mudbrick dwelling, this summer house applies exposed spotted gum structural columns, blackbutt ceilings and galvanised sheet as cladding.

The owners, who have a passion for raw materials, have enhanced the character of the original mudbrick with their unique taste in furnishing. Over many more years, they will extend the spirit of their home to the extended summer house, lending it continuity and meaning. The dwelling will be brought to life in the 21st century whilst preserving and enhancing a distinctive part of Eltham’s cultural heritage.
