Sited on a narrow block, this house entertains a sharply cut journey from front to rear. On approach, the inhabitants are met with the heritage façade of the original property, restored with a canary yellow door and stained glass windows. Stepping through into the pre-existing structure, one is drawn down the hallway by a crystalline, rectangular window perched at its end, passing jade coloured tiles that pattern the master bathroom.

The transition from existing structure into new addition is demarcated by a surface change; the timber floorboards transition into timber ceiling panelling, and the ground becomes polished eggshell concrete. Here, north light spills into living space and over clean detailing that articulates the kitchen bench, window seat, window frames, and lighting.
