Wide passages and doorways facilitate fluid movement through this house across a single-level ground plane. The roof crescendos in height from the rear of the house (which encloses the more private bedrooms and bathrooms) to the light-filled, expansive living space at the front.

Invoking prospect and refuge, the landscaping beyond this living area continues the flat ground plane trajectory briefly, before dropping suddenly. This not only conceals the inhabitants from intrusive eyes of passers-by, but also enables an uninterrupted sea view.

During the day the house is flooded with light, while at night it becomes a discreet beacon in the coastal landscape.
